300 Stainless Steel Series

400 Stainless Steel Series

  • Most Common Grades: 302 & 316 
  • Non-magnetic in annealed condition
  • Excellent corrosion resistance to most chemicals, acids, and salt water
  • Applications: Cosmetics, Food processing equipment, marine, medical, chemical, and general industrial environments
  • Temperature resistance:  Good at both high and low temperatures
  • Machineability: May be machined, drilled, and tapped
  • Hardness : 25-30 HRc
  •  
  • Most Common Grades: 420 & 440-C
  • Magnetic
  • Good wear resistance and higher hardness than 300 Series
  • Corrosion resistance: Moderate—suitable for mild environments but not as high as 300 Series
  • Applications: Bearings (anti-friction & precision), valves, automotive, food, medical, oil refining, etc.
  • 440C: Often used for high precision bearings due to its hardness and wear resistance
  • Machineability: Can be drilled by EDM and modified by grinding
