Stainless Steel Balls: 300 & 400 Series

Most Common Grades: 302 & 316
Non-magnetic in annealed condition
Excellent corrosion resistance to most chemicals, acids, and salt water
Applications: Cosmetics, Food processing equipment, marine, medical, chemical, and general industrial environments
Temperature resistance: Good at both high and low temperatures
Machineability: May be machined, drilled, and tapped
Hardness : 25-30 HRc

Most Common Grades: 420 & 440-C
Magnetic
Good wear resistance and higher hardness than 300 Series
Corrosion resistance: Moderate—suitable for mild environments but not as high as 300 Series
Applications: Bearings (anti-friction & precision), valves, automotive, food, medical, oil refining, etc.
440C: Often used for high precision bearings due to its hardness and wear resistance
Machineability: Can be drilled by EDM and modified by grinding
